Shayne and Jake tied the knot in a stunning, relaxed ceremony at Swancar Farm Country House—a beautiful barn wedding venue in Nottinghamshire, nestled in the rolling countryside of Trowell Moor.
The day started in the bridal suite at Swancar Farm, where Shayne got ready with her bridesmaids, the flower girl, and both mums. The atmosphere was full of laughter, emotion, and excitement—the kind of morning I love to capture with my documentary wedding photography style.
While hair and makeup were finishing up, I popped over to catch Jake opening a wedding morning card from Shayne—one of those quiet, personal moments that really tells the story of the day.
Once Shayne was in her dress, we took a few minutes for a first look with her dad and stepdad—a moment filled with emotion, hugs, and a few happy tears.
The wedding ceremony was held in The Gallery—an intimate, light-filled space upstairs in the barn. With their closest friends and family looking on, Shayne and Jake exchanged heartfelt vows, and you could feel every word.
After the first kiss and a big cheer, the newlyweds made their way outside into a flurry of confetti, hugs, and the start of the celebrations.
While guests enjoyed drinks, we took some relaxed family group photos, and then it was into the Oak Hall at Swancar Farm for the wedding breakfast. The speeches brought both laughter and emotion, with Shayne’s dad and stepdad speaking first, followed by Jake’s dad, the best man, and Jake himself with a lovely toast to Shayne.
As the light softened into golden hour, we stepped out for some natural couple portraits around the grounds of Swancar—a quiet moment for them to soak it all in and for me to capture a few timeless images.
Then it was time to hit the dance floor—and this was one of the liveliest I’ve seen all year! A perfect way to wrap up an unforgettable wedding day.
