THE TRACTOR BARN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Michael & Rachel celebrated their wedding across two locations, starting with a personal church ceremony at Wigston Magna Methodist Church in Leicestershire before heading into Northamptonshire for a relaxed countryside celebration at The Tractor Barn.
I joined everyone at the church as Michael was welcoming friends and family, before Rachel arrived with her dad in a classic VW camper van. The ceremony itself was lovely and personal, with plenty of little moments between Michael, Rachel and their guests to capture naturally as everything unfolded.
After the ceremony, nobody was in a rush to leave. Michael & Rachel stayed at the church for cake and a few nibbles, giving them time to celebrate with guests who weren’t able to make the journey to The Tractor Barn for the rest of the day.
The celebrations then moved to The Tractor Barn in Northamptonshire, a rustic countryside wedding venue surrounded by farmland. Drinks were waiting for everyone on arrival, followed by a handful of relaxed family photos and plenty of confetti before everyone headed into the barn for the wedding breakfast.
Speeches followed, with some heartfelt words from Rachel’s dad and Michael’s brother, who was also his best man. Once everyone had eaten, we made the most of the lovely warm sunshine and headed outside for some relaxed photographs of Michael & Rachel around the farm and barn.
There was no traditional first dance for this wedding. Instead, the evening kicked off with a ceilidh – and it didn’t take long before pretty much everyone was on their feet! With the band calling out the moves and guests attempting to follow the instructions, it made for a brilliantly fun evening and some fantastic candid wedding photographs.
Michael & Rachel’s wedding was relaxed, personal and full of the natural moments I love photographing. From their church ceremony in Leicestershire to the rustic surroundings of The Tractor Barn in Northamptonshire, the whole day had a lovely informal feel that suited them perfectly.
The Tractor Barn is a fantastic Northamptonshire wedding venue for couples looking for a relaxed countryside celebration with plenty of character. The barn, farm setting and surrounding outdoor space also work brilliantly for my candid, documentary approach to wedding photography – letting couples enjoy their day while I concentrate on capturing the people, laughter and moments happening around them.

“The Tractor Barn at Stone Siding Weddings & Events is an exclusive-use wedding venue set in the Northamptonshire countryside, just outside Guilsborough. The barn has a lovely mix of rustic and industrial styling, with exposed red brick, warm wooden details and black steel, while the surrounding fields give the whole venue a relaxed, rural feel.
There’s plenty of flexibility too, with couples able to hold their ceremony inside the barn or outside on the lawn overlooking the countryside. The Tractor Barn can accommodate anything from smaller celebrations through to weddings of around 250 seated guests, so despite the relaxed barn setting, there’s plenty of room for a proper party.
One of the nicest things about The Tractor Barn is that it feels like a venue couples can really make their own. It’s family-run, exclusively yours for the wedding, and couples can choose their own caterers and suppliers, making it particularly well suited to relaxed, personal weddings that don’t necessarily follow a traditional format.”
