Hodsock Priory Wedding Photography + Bride and Groom standing in the ceremony room after they have gotten married

Wallis and Jezz were married in late April 2022 at the beautiful Hodsock Priory.

The day started for me with Wallis and her girls getting ready in the Bridal Room; it wasn’t long after I arrived that it was time for Wallis to get in her wedding dress - with the help of her bridesmaids, and then the reveal to Dad!

Once Wallis had seen Dad and after a few emotional hugs, it was off down the long staircase to get married in the brightly colour wedding ceremony room!

First down the aisle were the Bridesmaids, followed then by Wallis and her Dad.

The ceremony was nicely done, with some funny moments from the registrars, which was nice, often, you get registrars who do everything by the book and allow for zero fun, but Wallis and Jezz got the fun registrars.

Once the ceremony was done and the legal papers signed, it was time to walk down the aisle as a newly married couple, into the gardens to get covered in confetti and to enjoy the early spring sunshine.

With the weather playing nice, it was great for people to be able to enjoy the garden games, being able to walk around the Hodsock gardens and to soak up the sun.

After we had done just a few family formal pictures, it was time to go inside for the wedding breakfast and the all important wedding speeches.

First up was Wallis’ Dad, who had a good, fun dig at Jezz, and this image is one of my favourite wedding speech images.

Something so important to me as a documentary wedding photographer is that the couples get what I do, how I do it and allow me on their wedding day to capture the wedding in a relaxed and unobtrusive way; Wallis and Jezz allowed me to do my thing all day, and the wedding photos are stunning because if it.

The whole day from start to finish was a joy; the venue was stunning, the staff were so helpful all day, and the wedding guests were so fun and didn't mind me sticking a camera in their faces.

The evening started with the cake cut and the first dance (or the first shuffle as I call it), Wallis and Jezz had no plan for their first dance, they were just going to let their limbs do what ever!

This was my first time at Hodsock Priory, and I cannot wait to go back; the place has so much character and is right up there as one of my favourite Nottinghamshire Wedding venues.

SOME KIND WORDS FROM WALLIS & JEZZ

“Where to even begin? Andy was everything we could've possibly asked for in a photographer. Funny, personable, authentic and no none sense (in the best way).

We wanted to feel relaxed and have minimal disruption for us and our guests on our wedding day, and Andy's documentary style delivers just that.”
