HODSOCK PRIORY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Wallis and Jezz were married in late April 2022 at the beautiful Hodsock Priory.
My day began with Wallis and her bridesmaids getting ready in the Bridal Room. It wasn’t long after I arrived that it was time for Wallis to step into her wedding dress, with the help of her bridesmaids. Then came the special moment—the reveal to Dad, which is always such a touching part of the day.
After Wallis shared a few emotional hugs with her dad, it was time to head down the long staircase to the beautifully bright and colorful wedding ceremony room for the big moment.
First down the aisle were the bridesmaids, followed by Wallis and her dad, walking together toward the ceremony. The atmosphere was full of anticipation and joy as they made their way down the aisle.
The ceremony was nicely done, with some funny moments from the registrars, which was nice, often, you get registrars who do everything by the book and allow for zero fun, but Wallis and Jezz got the fun registrars.
Once the ceremony was done and the legal papers signed, it was time to walk down the aisle as a newly married couple, into the gardens to get covered in confetti and to enjoy the early spring sunshine.
With the weather playing nice, it was great for people to be able to enjoy the garden games, being able to walk around the Hodsock gardens and to soak up the sun.
After capturing a few family formal pictures, it was time to head inside for the wedding breakfast and the all-important wedding speeches.
First up was Wallis’ Dad, who had a bit of fun with Jezz, sharing some lighthearted stories and jokes. This moment turned out to be one of my favorite wedding speech images—it perfectly captured the humor and warmth of the day.
As a documentary wedding photographer, it’s so important to me that couples understand and appreciate my approach—that I’m there to capture their day in a relaxed and unobtrusive way. Wallis and Jezz gave me the freedom to do exactly that, and because of this, the wedding photos turned out absolutely stunning.
From start to finish, the day was a joy. The venue was breathtaking, the staff were incredibly helpful, and the wedding guests were so fun and easygoing—they didn’t mind me sticking a camera in their faces!
The evening began with the cake cut and the first dance (or as I call it, the first shuffle). Wallis and Jezz didn’t have any plan for their first dance—they were just going to let their limbs do whatever they felt like! It made for a fun and carefree moment that perfectly reflected their personalities.
This was my first time at Hodsock Priory, and I cannot wait to go back; the place has so much character and is right up there as one of my favourite Nottinghamshire Wedding venues.
SOME KIND WORDS FROM WALLIS & JEZZ
“Where to even begin? Andy was everything we could've possibly asked for in a photographer. Funny, personable, authentic and no none sense (in the best way).
We wanted to feel relaxed and have minimal disruption for us and our guests on our wedding day, and Andy's documentary style delivers just that.”
