HEMSWELL COURT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Cherie and George chose the breathtaking Hemswell Court in Lincolnshire as the perfect setting for their wedding day.
My day began with capturing the guests' arrivals, and luckily, the unpredictable summer rain of 2023 held off. It was a joy to photograph everyone arriving without umbrellas obscuring their faces!
Hemswell Court offers several beautiful ceremony spaces, and Cherie and George chose the elegant sitting room, where soft natural light streamed in through the grand windows, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere.
The ceremony was a quick one; no sooner had Cherie and her father walked down the aisle than Cherie and George were walking back down the aisle as a married couple.
One of my favorite moments on a wedding day is the confetti toss, and I always tell couples—if you're going to do confetti, go all in! Get more than you think you'll need, and then get even more!
The photo at the top of this blog post, where Cherie and George are completely showered in confetti, is easily one of my favorite shots from the day.
After a few family formals (to keep the parents happy), everyone headed back inside for a warm wedding receiving line before moving into the reception room for the wedding breakfast and, of course, the all-important speeches.
Cherie and George wanted the speeches to be nice and quick, with a strict 5 minutes per person and with the father of the bride up first, followed by George and then his brother; everyone kept to their five-minute limit, and we were done in just under 15 minutes.
The evening kicked off with the cake cut before the first dance (or the first shuffle, as I call it) and then into the daft dancing.
I enjoyed my first visit to Hemswell Court; it’s a lovely venue with character, and would high recommend Hemswell Court to anyone looking for a wedding venue in Lincolnshire.
