DONINGTON PARK FARMHOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
I love a wedding with familiar faces, it's fantastic to catch up with people you have met at weddings over the years, and at Caroline and Jonny's wedding at Donington Park Farmhouse, there were plenty of familiar faces.
Caroline was a Bridesmaid at one of my all-time favourite weddings - Safina & James (Swancar Farm Wedding Photography), Caroline and Jonny wanted a relaxed wedding day, and they wanted a wedding photographer who would be there capturing all the moments that they were missing and they wanted someone to capture it in a friendly, relaxed and none shouty way - and that was perfect for me!
Caroline and Jonny were one of so many couples who had planned to get married in 2021 but were hit with the COVID lockdowns and rightly decided to postpone to 2022.
The guys were gutted to wait an extra 12 months to become 'Mr & Mrs Allred' finally, but the wait was worth it.
The start of the day for me was capturing Caroline and her girls getting ready in one of the onsite apartments, its always good having a place on site for brides and grooms to get ready as it takes a lot of stress out of the day with no travelling.
Once Caz was in her wedding dress and after Dad had popped in to see her, it was time to head over to the Farmhouse for the wedding ceremony.
The Farmhouse ceremony room is a great room to get married in; it was one of the first converted barns to host weddings in the UK.
First down the aisle were the Bridesmaids, followed by Caz and her Dad. The aisle at Donington Park Farmhouse is very long, so all the wedding guests got a great view of Caz coming down the aisle.
The wedding ceremony was nicly done with both witnesses being asked to stand next to the couple so they can 'witness' the legal vows.
With the wedding ceremony and legals done, it was time for the happy couple to walk down the wedding aisle.
The end of March is not known for its warmth and sunshine, but someone had made a deal, and we were treated to summer weather in March with people sitting and mingling outside.
If you have never been to Donington Park Farmhouse, you will be amazed at the Cow Shed where the wedding breakfast is, now obvs its not a working Cow Shed, but the seating booths are laid out within the original pens that the cows would have been in.
The speeches were Caz's Dad, Jonny the Groom and the best man who had some hilarious stories of Jonny from when they were at school (you can see the reactions in the gallery below)
After the speeches, we all headed into the bar for the cake cut and then back into the barn for the first dance, followed by one of the busiest dancefloors I have seen in a long time!
