SWANCAR FARM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

The morning began for me with a few quiet minutes capturing Safina as she had her hair and makeup done. I mention this because the rest of the morning was anything but quiet—it quickly became loud and very busy, with everyone rushing around in preparation for the big day!

After Safina had stepped into her wedding dress and all the guests had arrived, it was time for everyone to head into the new wedding ceremony room at Swancar Farm.

James was ready, and now we all waited for Safina to make her way down from the Bridal Suite to the Glass Barn for the wedding ceremony. The anticipation in the air was palpable as we all waited for the beautiful moment when Safina would walk down the aisle.

One of the things I love most about wedding photography is capturing the looks between people—those fleeting moments that offer a glimpse into the relationships and emotions shared between them.

What stood out the most during Safina and James’ wedding was just how much everyone meant to each other. It was clear from the smallest gestures to the biggest moments that this was a celebration filled with deep love and connection.

The walk with Dad was such an emotional moment. Everyone was in bits—guests, family, and, of course, James. As soon as he and Safina made eye contact, he was gone, overcome with emotion.

When capturing the bride walking down the aisle, my goal is always to remain unobtrusive. I make sure I’m not interfering, moving around, or causing a distraction.

It’s important to me that the couple has their moment without any fuss. To help with this, I don’t have the camera to my eye; it stays low and out of the way so I can blend in and not take away from the beauty of the moment.

The Glass Barn at Swancar Farm is an absolutely stunning space for a wedding ceremony. The large, gorgeous windows flood the room with dramatic light, creating a beautiful and serene atmosphere that’s perfect for exchanging vows.

The ceremony itself was incredibly emotional. You could feel the emotions in the room the moment Safina and her dadwalked down the aisle, but when the ceremony truly began, the emotions went to another level. The reading of a poem by James’ sister was particularly moving—so much so that even I had to pause and compose myself for a moment.

The wedding speeches are always such a big part of the day. It’s the moment when Dad gets to embarrass his daughter, when the funny stories from the stag do come to light, and a chance to raise a heartfelt toast to the family and friends no longer with us. These moments are often filled with laughter, tears, and so many memories that truly make the day unforgettable.

One of the things I always focus on during the first dance is capturing the guest reactions. It’s so special when people are truly watching the happy couple, rather than recording or watching it through their mobile phones. I absolutely love those moments when the bridesmaids are watching, completely in the moment, soaking it all in, and enjoying their best friend’s first dance. It’s those real, emotional reactions that truly make the moment even more meaningful.
