MAKENEY HALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Zoe and Adam were one of so many couples who had to postpone their 2020 wedding due to the pandemic; as painful as that was, their wedding in 2021 was well worth the wait.
The day started for me with a few images of the Woodland Gardens, a beautiful log-cabin style building set in the stunning gardens - the location for the wedding ceremony.
Zoe was in the Bridal suite within the Hotel, and after many wrong turns in the labyrinth of corridors, I finally arrived at room number 9 (which is not next door to room number 10!).
When I arrived, Zoe was having the final touch-ups to her make-up and figuring out the best way of getting the headpiece to stay put.
The bridal suite was a stunning room with big windows making for some dramatic light. I love spaces like this, so much better than the cramped, dimly lit rooms you often find in hotels.
Once Zoe was in the dress, and after cooling down in front of the big fan (it was a very hot room), it was time to see Dad for the first time. After a few pictures of the moments between Zoe and her Dad, I quietly left the room and headed off to the ceremony location.
Adam and the guests had made their way to the woodland gardens, and after a quick catch-up with Adam, it was time for the bridesmaids and flower girls to make their way down the aisle.
Zoe had her Dad and Brother with her as she walked down the aisle, she wanted them both to be there for the walk.
The civil ceremony was a quick one; since the start of the pandemic, the registrars have been quick in getting the legal bits done, and even though we had a couple of readings and poems, I think it was about 15 minutes from Zoe walking down the aisle to them both walking back down the aisle as a married couple.
After the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds headed outside, where the Ushers had got everyone waiting with the confetti.
The nice thing about Makeney Hall is they have a lovely area at the back of the building where people can mingle, drink and enjoy the canopes.
Once the canopes had been eaten and the formals were done, it was off to the conservatory room where the wedding reception was being held.
The speeches were up first, with the two best men stealing the show with some great stories of Adam!
The evening reception promised to be a good one with Adam and his band playing for most of the night, first up though, it was the cake cut and the first dance or the first shuffle as I call it.
I enjoyed the wedding of Zoe and Adam; Makeney Hall was an excellent choice for their wedding, and looking forward to going back there in 2022.
