COCKLIFFE COUNTRY HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Samantha & Ashley were married at Cockliffe House in front of their closest family and friends and celebrated in their own way, with the focus on spending as much time as possible with their wedding guests.
Sam and Ash both fully embraced my Documentary Wedding Photography approach, allowing me the creative freedom to roam freely amongst their enthusiastic guests, capturing the authentic story of their special day in a truly natural way
THE WEDDING FIRST LOOK AT COCKLIFFE HOUSE
My day began with Sam, her Mum, and their daughter getting ready in the beautiful bridal suite.
After they were all set, we headed down to meet Ashley for the much-anticipated first look.
The wedding first look is a significant moment, although I don't often have the chance to capture it here in the UK. It seems to be a more popular tradition across the pond in the US, where nearly every wedding includes this special moment. Remarkably, this was only my second first look in four years!
Sam wanted to have a first look so that Ash could see their daughter in her beautiful dress before the official start of the wedding ceremony.
As a photographer, it's crucial to capture these precious moments while ensuring that I don’t overstay my welcome, allowing everyone involved to enjoy their moment together.
THE WEDDING CEREMONY AT COCKLIFFE HOUSE
The wedding ceremony began with Mya joyfully walking down the aisle, carrying a charming sign that read, "It’s time to give Mummy Our Last Name."
Once Mya reached her grandparents, Sam and her dad took their turn, walking down the aisle together in a heartfelt moment. This moment is undeniably special for a father and daughter, and the happiness on their faces is beautifully captured in the photo above.
The ceremony was a quick one, as Sam and Ashley wanted to get the legal stuff done as quickly as possible. Their primary focus was to spend the rest of the day enjoying precious moments with their family and friends, celebrating their love and the beginning of their new life together.
The wedding ceremony room at Cockliffe House has large, beautifully designed windows and double doors at the end of the aisle. This design provides lovely, soft light for the couple during the ceremony. The room is also well positioned, so the sun doesn’t shine directly through the windows, which is great for photographers wanting to capture perfect, candid moments without harsh lighting.
THE WEDDING CONFETTI AT COCKLIFFE HOUSE
The confetti shot is undeniably one of my favorite moments at every wedding; it’s that wonderfully special time when all the families and friends come together joyfully to chuck their brightly colored confetti at the newlyweds.
Once Sam and Ashley had removed all the confetti from their clothes and hair, it was time to mingle and catch up with their wedding guests, before posing for a few family formal photographs and then making their way into the Wedding Breakfast to enjoy the food.
Like so many couples, Sam and Ashley opted against having any speeches, as they simply wanted to savor the delightful meal and thoroughly enjoy the company of their wonderful wedding guests.
THE WEDDING FIRST DANCE AT COCKLIFFE HOUSE
The evening kicked off with the much-anticipated cake cut and first dance, which, to everyone's surprise, went well for Ash. This was impressive, considering that most grooms often appear so uncomfortable swaying and dancing in front of their family and friends.
The above photo is my favorite from the first dance as you can see Mya looking on watching her Mum and Dad dance.
