COCKLIFFE COUNTRY HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Samantha and Ashley were married at Cockliffe House in front of their closest family and friends, celebrating in their own way with a focus on spending as much time as possible with their guests.
Both Sam and Ash fully embraced my documentary wedding photography approach, giving me the creative freedom to roam among their enthusiastic guests and capture the authentic story of their special day in a truly natural way.
THE WEDDING FIRST LOOK AT COCKLIFFE HOUSE
My day began with Sam, her Mum, and their daughter getting ready in the beautiful bridal suite.
Once they were all set, we headed down to meet Ashley for the much-anticipated first look.
The wedding first look is a significant moment—even though I don’t often have the opportunity to capture it here in the UK. It seems to be a more popular tradition across the pond in the US, where nearly every wedding includes this special moment. Remarkably, this was only my second first look in four years!
Sam chose to have a first look so that Ashley could see their daughter in her beautiful dress before the official start of the wedding ceremony.
As a photographer, it's crucial for me to capture these precious moments while ensuring I don’t overstay my welcome, allowing everyone to fully enjoy their time together.
THE WEDDING CEREMONY AT COCKLIFFE HOUSE
The wedding ceremony began with Mya joyfully walking down the aisle, carrying a charming sign that read, "It’s time to give Mummy Our Last Name."
Once Mya reached her grandparents, Sam and her dad took their turn, walking down the aisle together in a heartfelt moment. This moment is undeniably special for a father and daughter, and the happiness on their faces is beautifully captured in the photo above.
The ceremony was a quick one, as Sam and Ashley wanted to get the legal stuff done as quickly as possible. Their primary focus was to spend the rest of the day enjoying precious moments with their family and friends, celebrating their love and the beginning of their new life together.
The wedding ceremony room at Cockliffe House features large, elegantly designed windows and double doors at the end of the aisle. This setup provides the couple with soft, flattering light during the ceremony. Additionally, the room's positioning prevents direct sunlight from streaming through the windows—an ideal condition for photographers aiming to capture perfect, candid moments without harsh lighting.
THE WEDDING CONFETTI AT COCKLIFFE HOUSE
The confetti shot is always one of my favorite wedding moments—it's that magical time when family and friends gather to shower the newlyweds with brightly colored confetti.
After Sam and Ashley carefully brushed off the confetti from their clothes and hair, they took a moment to mingle with their guests before posing for a few family formal portraits. Then, they made their way into the Wedding Breakfast to enjoy a delicious meal.
Like many couples, Sam and Ashley decided to skip the speeches, choosing instead to fully savor the delightful food and the warm company of their guests.
THE WEDDING FIRST DANCE AT COCKLIFFE HOUSE
The evening began with the eagerly awaited cake cut and first dance—surprisingly, Ash handled the dance floor with ease, which was impressive considering how many grooms seem awkward in front of family and friends.
My favorite moment from the first dance is captured in the photo above, where you can see Mya watching her Mum and Dad with pure delight.
“The photos he captured were truly spectacular and he got all the magical moments of people truly enjoying them selves! If you’re looking for someone to capture those truly natural moments then I cannot recommend him enough. Thank you so much Andy for everything! You really were amazing!”
