BROOKSBY HALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
In this blog, we are off to Leicestershire for the wedding of Amy & Tom, who were married at St Michael & All Angels Church in the grounds of Brooksby Hall, so let’s jump in and have a look at some of my favourite wedding images from the day.
The morning of the wedding began with Amy, her daughter, and her bridesmaids getting ready in the Justices Room at Brooksby Hall, the venue for the afternoon and evening celebrations.
The image above captures a quiet moment from that morning when it was just Amy and me in the room. I had envisioned this shot in my head, but I knew it would require patience. I attempted it several times, but there was always someone else in the frame. With persistence—and a bit of luck—I finally managed to get the shot I had been waiting for.
The image above of Tom waiting in the church is possibly my favorite ever ‘nervous groom’ shot. I love how Amy’s mum, on the right, is smiling at his nerves, while Tom’s mum smirks in the background. And then there’s Tom—his face a perfect mix of nerves, happiness, and the realization that in just a few minutes, he’ll see Amy walking down the aisle.
The composition of this shot feels just right. The church setting complements my color edits beautifully, and overall, this is easily one of my all-time favorite wedding photos.

The wedding ceremony at St Michael & All Angels Church was one of the most memorable I’ve had the privilege to witness. Revd David Harknett led the service, and I have nothing but praise for the warmth, joy, and energy he brought to the occasion. Once the legalities and vows were complete, it was time for the much-anticipated first kiss!
The confetti shot, love this time at every wedding, the time where all the families and friends get to chuck things (confetti) at the newlywed’s, but this is sometimes brought with danger for me, especially when I’m walking backwards towards some steep steps!
After some mingling with their families and friends, it was time to head into Brooksby Hall for the wedding breakfast and the speeches
The evening kicked off with the cake cut and the first dance, which surprisingly went quite well for Tom, given most grooms look so uncomfortable swaying and dancing in front of people, but Tom nailed it and after the first dance, the live band kicked in, which got everyone up on the dancefloor.

And there you have it—my first wedding at Brooksby Hall, and I absolutely loved it.
St Michael & All Angels Church at Brooksby Hall has quickly become one of my favorite venues to photograph. It’s beautifully intimate—not too large, so guests still feel connected to the couple. Revd David Harknett was incredibly accommodating, allowing me fantastic access throughout the ceremony. As you’ll see in the gallery below, that access made a real difference in capturing the emotion and atmosphere of the day.
