Frequently Asked Questions
These are some of the most common questions I get from couples looking for a wedding photographer. If there’s anything I haven’t covered, feel free to get in touch.
About My Approach
Q. Do you pose couples?
Not really.
My approach is relaxed and documentary, so I won’t be directing you all day or making you pose awkwardly. Most of the time, I’m simply capturing things as they happen.
For couples photos, I’ll give you a bit of gentle guidance if needed—nothing forced, just enough to help you feel comfortable and natural. Think of it as gentle coaching.
Q. We’re not great in front of the camera — is that okay?
Perfect — that’s exactly who I work with.
Most of my couples say they feel a bit awkward about having their photo taken, and that’s completely normal. Because I don’t rely on posing, you can just enjoy your day and be yourselves.
Q. What kind of photography style do you offer?
I specialise in relaxed, natural, documentary-style wedding photography.
That means capturing real moments as they happen — the laughs, the hugs, and everything in between — rather than staging or directing the day
Q. Will you take over the day?
Definitely not!
I keep things relaxed and unobtrusive, blending in with your guests rather than directing everything. The focus is always on you enjoying your day, not being pulled away from it.
Coverage & The Day
Q. How much coverage do we need?
Most couples book around 8–10 hours of coverage.
This usually captures the full story of the day — from getting ready through to the first dance and into the evening.
If you’re planning something shorter or more low-key, 4–6 hours can work really well too.

Q. Do you do group photos?
Yes — just not loads of them.
We’ll usually keep family photos quick and simple so you can get back to enjoying your day. A small list (around 5–6 groupings) works best.

Q. Will you help us with timings?
Absolutely, if you want a hand!
I’ll help you plan a rough timeline for the day, ensuring there’s enough time for everything without it feeling rushed or overly structured.

Q. Do you stay for the first dance?
That depends on the coverage you choose.
Most full-day bookings include the first dance, but shorter coverage may finish earlier. We can always chat through what works best for your plans.
Q. Do you photograph morning preparations?
Yes — if your coverage includes it.
Morning prep is a great way to capture the start of the day, but it’s completely optional, depending on what you want covered.
Q. Can we add more time later?
Yes, absolutely.
A lot of couples start with a rough idea and then add extra time once their plans are finalised.
Q. How far in advance should we book?
As soon as you have your date.
I take on a limited number of weddings each year, so popular dates can get booked up well in advance.
On The Day
Q. What happens if it rains?
No problem at all.
Weddings don’t stop for the weather, and some of the best moments happen regardless. I’ll always work with whatever the day brings and make the most of it.
Q. Do you work alone?
Yes — I photograph weddings on my own.
This helps me stay unobtrusive and consistent throughout the day. If needed, we can always chat about additional coverage.
Q. Do you travel for weddings?
Yes — I’m based in Nottinghamshire but cover weddings across the UK.
