WEDDINGS ON PUDDING PIE HILL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Becky and Jack wanted a relaxed, fuss-free wedding day, surrounded by their closest family and friends. They felt my Documentary Wedding Photography style was the perfect fit to capture their special day naturally and authentically.
My day began with Becky, her bridesmaids, and her closest friends getting ready at Becky and Jack's home. I always love when a bride gets ready in her own house—it allows me to capture little details that reflect the couple’s personality, from holiday photos on the walls to sentimental keepsakes. In Becky and Jack’s case, that meant also documenting their adorable new puppy!
When I arrived, hair and makeup were just wrapping up, and before long, Becky was stepping into her wedding dress with the help of her mum and her closest friend—a beautiful, intimate moment to start the day.
One of my favorite images from the morning is Becky’s mum's reaction to seeing her in her wedding dress (there are a few more images from this moment in the main gallery below.
Becky and Jack had originally planned for an outdoor wedding ceremony, but with the forecast predicting rain right at the time of their vows, they made the difficult decision to move the ceremony inside the pub.
The ceremony itself was beautifully simple—just two readings and the legal formalities, all wrapped up within 20 minutes. This meant even more time for the happy couple to relax and celebrate with their family and friends, just as they had envisioned.
With the ceremony moved indoors due to the rain, the room needed to be quickly transformed for the wedding breakfast. This gave guests plenty of time to enjoy canapés, drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere while the space was being reset.
Once the wedding breakfast was finished, it was time for the all-important speeches. First up was Becky's dad, followed by her stepdad, then Jack, the groom, and finally, Jack’s brother, the best man—each delivering heartfelt words that brought both laughter and emotion to the celebration.
After the speeches, we finally had the chance to capture the few family formal photos Becky and Jack had requested. We had to delay them until later in the evening due to the torrential rain earlier in the day, but it was well worth the wait.
With the formalities done, it was time for the cake cutting, followed by the first dance—two special moments that marked the start of a fun-filled evening of celebrations.
