NORWOOD PARK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
I love Norwood Park as a wedding venue; it has character, charm, and stunning rooms for the ceremony, the getting ready part of the day, and the wedding breakfast.
When Louise got in touch with me to photograph her wedding in a relaxed and natural way, it was a super easy decision to say yes!
THE BRIDE GETTING READY AT NORWOOD PARK
The day started for me with Louise and her morning crew getting ready in the orangery at the side of the wedding ceremony room, it was my first time shooting in the orangery, and it was such a pleasant room, with plenty of natural light for the hair and make-up girls to be able to see what they were doing and great for me as the room was filled with soft light.
Jamie was also getting ready at Norwood, he and his crew were getting ready in the Duke suite, and it was really good to get images of Louise and Jamie getting prepared on the morning of the wedding.
THE WEDDING DRESS DETAILS AND SHOES
As is standard at Norwood Park, the bride gets ready in the Orangery and then moves up to the Bridal Suite to get into the wedding dress, and what a dress Louise had chosen, and with the help of Mum and her friends, the wedding dress and the wedding shoes were on with little amount of fuss and still plenty of time for a quick toast with the Bridesmaids.
THE WEDDING CEREMONY
The wedding ceremony for Louise and Jamie was held in the Drawing Room, a big open room with large windows, which lets in the most beautiful light that bathes both the bride and groom, often when you have big windows like this the light is often just on one person and because of the location of Norwood the sun is never directly in the faces of the couple.
The ceremony was lovely, it started with Louise and her mum walking down the aisle together; one of my favourite images from the wedding ceremony is the photo of Louise and her Mum sharing a look at each other after they had walked down the aisle.
The ceremony was short and sweet, as both Louise and Jamie wanted to get the legal bits done and then spend time with their family and friends; no sooner had Louise walked down the aisle, than she was walking back down the aisle hand in hand with Jamie as a newly married couple.
GETTING COVERED IN CONFETTI
Louise and Jamie did the confetti just right - they had loads of confetti for all their family and friends; if you are reading this and getting married, please make sure you have plenty of confetti, as it can make all the difference in your confetti wedding photos.
THE WEDDING SPEECHES
The wedding breakfast was held in the Gallery Room and started with the speeches, first up was the mother of the bride, then Jamie and finally the best men who took their opportunity to dig up some old and hilarious stories of Jamie - you will see from the full gallery lower down this post, just how embarrassing the stories were for Jamie.
A QUICK PORTRAIT AT THE GRECIAN TEMPLE
The guys only wanted a few portrait pictures, which is precisely how I like it as I do believe couples should be spending more time with their family and friends rather than the wedding photographer; for me and how I work, if a couple wants some portraits on their wedding day, that’s fine with me, it only takes 10-15 minutes to get a few nice shots.
Norwood Park has plenty of places to do a few portraits, but I had seen this Temple on the top of the hill close to the venue; I checked in with the couple to make sure they were cool with the location and with the sun starting to dip, we timed it just right to get some warm, sun setting images at the Grecian Temple.
THE FIRST DANCE
The first dance at Norwood is held in the marque room next to the Gallery room and is perfect for the first dance as it has plenty of space for everyone to get a good view of the couple doing their first dance (or first shuffle as I call it).
Once the guys had done their first dance, the evening kicked off with some very questionable dancing from Jamie!
