LINCOLN CHURCH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Jen & Luke celebrated their wedding in the heart of Lincoln, with a beautiful church ceremony at St Peter in Eastgate followed by their reception at The Castle Hotel. It was also lovely to see some familiar faces, having photographed Jen’s brother’s wedding a few years earlier.
I joined everyone at the church for the guest arrivals, with Luke welcoming friends and family in the warm spring sunshine. Jen arrived shortly afterwards with her dad in a traditional wedding car, giving us a few moments for some relaxed photos together before heading inside for the ceremony.
St Peter in Eastgate is a beautiful setting for a traditional Lincoln church wedding, and the ceremony itself was lovely to photograph, with plenty of freedom to quietly capture everything as it happened. Afterwards, everyone headed into the church gardens for confetti and a handful of relaxed family photos.
While the guests made their way to The Castle Hotel, we took a little detour around Lincoln Cathedral for some natural photos of Jen & Luke together. With the Cathedral and historic streets of Lincoln as the backdrop, we kept things relaxed before walking across to join everyone for the drinks reception.
The speeches took place inside the Reform Restaurant at The Castle Hotel, with plenty of laughter mixed with some more emotional moments. Afterwards, everyone spilled back out into the courtyard for drinks and a chance to catch up before the evening celebrations began.
Jen & Luke kicked off the evening with their first dance, and it didn’t take long for everyone else to join them. The dancefloor stayed busy with a brilliant atmosphere – the perfect ending to a relaxed spring wedding in Lincoln.
From a traditional church ceremony to wandering around Lincoln Cathedral and celebrating at The Castle Hotel, the whole day worked perfectly for my relaxed, candid approach to wedding photography. Plenty of real moments, very little posing, and lots of people simply enjoying the day.
