Welcome to a new wedding blog here on the HQ web-site, and for this wedding, I got to travel up to one of my favorite parts of the country - Yorkshire, a place I know very well from all my hikes and walks over the years.
Freya and Will chose me because they wanted their wedding day to focus on celebrating with family and friends. They requested just four formal family photos and only one of themselves, prioritizing time with their loved ones. It was another perfect wedding for me!
My day began with the girls getting ready in the newly refurbished Thunderbridge Suite, a charming cottage just steps away from the Woodman Inn and the Garden Room, where the ceremony would take place.
When I arrived, the morning preparations were in full swing—five bridesmaids, two makeup artists, Mum, and I were all squeezing into the cozy cottage, making for some wonderfully close and intimate photos.
Before long, Freya was upstairs on the top floor, slipping into her wedding dress with the help of her mum. Within minutes, she was ready and heading back downstairs for the big reveal with her bridesmaids.
The wedding ceremony was a quick one; they all seemed to be at the moment, but the guys went with a simple civil wedding ceremony - no readings, no extra vows, just straight to the point, no messing!
After the ceremony, it was time for Freya and Will to mingle and reconnect with their family and friends. I absolutely love this part of a wedding day—maybe even my favorite! It’s the moment when everyone gathers around the newlyweds, sharing hugs, kisses, and pure joy. Those heartfelt interactions are what make it so special for me!
After the four family formal photos and a quick shot of the guys in the woodland near the Garden Room, it was time for the wedding breakfast and the much-anticipated speeches.
First up was Freya’s dad, and with an overhead projector set up, it was clear that someone was about to be embarrassed. This time, it was Will—cue a slideshow of childhood photos featuring some truly questionable hair and fashion choices!
Will followed with a short and heartfelt speech, keeping things simple. Then came the best man’s turn, and once again, it was Will in the spotlight for yet another round of good-natured embarrassment.
The evening celebrations began with the first dance, setting the stage for an unforgettable night. It wasn’t long before everyone piled onto the dance floor for the disco, and I have to say—it was one of the best dance floors I’ve seen in a long time! The Yorkshire crowd definitely knows how to party!

I absolutely loved being back in Yorkshire, and capturing Freya and Will’s wedding was a joy. From our very first chats, their focus was clear—they wanted to fully enjoy their day without being posed or directed. Their wedding gallery perfectly reflects this, showcasing the fun, laughter, and genuine moments shared with their loved ones.
