THE CHEQUERS INN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Lori and Martyn were married on a fun filled wedding day at the Chequers Inn in Woolsthorpe which is in the vale of Belvoir.
THE MORNING
I love it when couples get ready at the venue; it makes the coverage so much easier as it allows me time to drift from the Bride getting ready to grabbing images of the venue being set up and also the wedding guests arriving.
Lori was getting ready in the Angelica room at the Chequers Inn, which is a small apartment which is used for couples getting married.
The morning was friendly and relaxed, with Lori’s Bridesmaids having a few drinks, listening to music and getting ready.
Once the make-up and hair was done, it was time for Lori to get her wedding dress on with the help of her sister.
THE WAITING GROOM
With Lori having a few quiet moments with her Dad before the wedding, I headed to the ceremony room to find Martyn, who was waiting patiently with his best man.

The wedding ceremony started with Lori’s bridesmaids coming down the wedding aisle first, followed by Lori and her Dad - always a special moment for every Dad.
THE WEDDING CEREMONY
The wedding ceremony at the Chequers is conducted by Grantham registrars, who have a tradition of getting the wedding witnesses to stand with the couple as they say their wedding vows and contract their marriage.
The ceremony was fun, with the best man doing the old ‘lost the wedding rings’ gag.
I love the light you get at the Chequers during the wedding ceremony; there is a large ceiling window which cast the most amazing light, which in the picture above is lighting Lori.
THE NEWLY WEDS
After the signing of the wedding register and a few shots for the family and friends, it was time to walk down the aisle as a newly married couple and into the gardens of the Chequers Inn for some drinks and nibbles.
GETTING COVERED IN CONFETTI
If you are going to do confetti, do it properly!
It’s far better to have too much confetti to go around than too little.
Often confetti comes in small packets, where the packet if you ripped it up, would generate more confetti than what is contained inside!
Lori and Martyn went all in on the confetti, and it made for some fantastic images.
THE WEDDING SPEECHES & WEDDING RECEPTION
Before the wedding breakfast, we had the wedding speeches.
First up was Lori’s Dad, who had some great stories about Lori and Martyn.
Martyn was up next and had everyone in stitches!
THE CAKE CUT AND THE FIRST DANCE
The start to most wedding evenings is the cake cut followed by the first dance or the first shuffle, as I call it!
