ST NIC’S CHURCH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
I first met Tillie and Xander at one of my favourite ever weddings and was so excited when they asked if I was free to photograph their wedding; after a quick zoom call, we were all booked in!
The day started for me over in Sherwood at the house of one of Tillie's Bridesmaids. After a few quick introductions to get the awkwardness out of the way, I got cracking on documenting the morning chaos of 7 people getting ready!
Once everyone was ready and the main bedroom was free, Tille and her Mum headed upstairs to get the wedding dress on. I'm in no way a wedding dress type of guy; I have no idea what the different styles are or what the dresses are made from, but in my mind, before I saw Tillie's wedding dress, I had an idea what the dress would be like, simple, not fussy, no 30 ft trail at the back which everyone steps on, just a simple, elegant dress and she nailed it.
The wedding ceremony was at St Nic's Church in Nottingham (just off Maid Marion Way), I have photographed a few weddings at St Nic's and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Steve, the person who does the ceremonies, is friendly and relaxed when it comes to allowing photographers a little bit of freedom to capture the essential moments which happen during the wedding ceremony.
After the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds headed outside, where all of the guests had lined up, ready to throw the confetti.
Tille and Xander had around 150 guests, all of whom had lined up with confetti in hand; it was possibly the longest confetti run I have ever photographed!
After a few family formals and a quick bit of cake back inside the Church, it was time to head off to Hoveringham Village Hall for the wedding reception.
