SHOTTLE HALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Lynne and Lewis chose a fantastic venue for their outdoor wedding ceremony, and with the sun shining all day, it was absolutely picture-perfect!
My day began with capturing Lynne and her bridesmaids getting ready for the outdoor ceremony, which was set to take place in the beautiful gardens of Shottle Hall.
Once hair and makeup were done, it was time for Lynne’s bridesmaid to help her into her wedding dress, a moment filled with excitement and anticipation.
One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is when the father of the bride sees his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. While it can sometimes feel a bit staged, with family members building up the moment, there are those rare times when it’s pure magic. The reactions are genuine, filled with emotion, and make for some truly incredible photos.
I think the following picture is my favorite from Lynne and Lewis’s wedding—the moment when Lynne and her dad appeared from the main door leading down to the garden.
I had a clear vision for this shot: I wanted both of them in the door, with Shottle Hall playing a significant role in the background, and Lewis in the foreground.
Now, as much as having a vision is important, getting the perfect shot is about a bit of planning and, of course, luck. And this time, luck was definitely on my side!
Once the wedding ceremony was done, it was time for everyone to gather at the front of Shottle Hall for the 'chuck things at the Bride and Groom' part of the wedding!
After Lynne and Lewis spent the afternoon chatting and catching up with their wedding guests, it was time for the wedding breakfast and the all-important speeches.
Lynne’s dad was up first, followed by Lewis, and then finally, the best man. And for once, the best man did something I had never seen at a wedding—he pulled a gun on the bride and groom! Thankfully, it was a toy one, and it definitely added a fun, unexpected twist to the speeches!
After the speeches, Lewis and Lynne took a walk around Shottle Hall, taking it all as a wedding day can go so fast.
After the little walk, it was time for the cake to be cut and then the first dance.
SOME KIND WORDS FROM LYNNE & LEWIS
“Andy was exactly what we were looking for, relaxed and informal documentary style photos which really captures the emotions of the day. Andy is very thorough and has excellent communication throughout the process to give you complete peace of mind”
